Brivia Group is proud to announce the following appointments as it continues to grow its pipeline of new real estate development projects:
Mr. Vincent Kou, LLB
Effective September 1, 2018, Mr. Vincent Kou will join Brivia Group as Vice-President, Corporate Development & Growth, reporting to Mr. Kheng Ly, President & CEO. Vincent brings a combination of business development, commercial, legal and international business experience to the Group. In his new role, Vincent will be responsible for the business development and growth of the Group including real estate investments and acquisitions.
Prior to joining the Brivia Group, Vincent held a number of senior positions over a 15 year period with Rio Tinto, a global mining company. Most recently, he was based in Singapore for close to four (4) years within the Commercial Group. Prior to his posting in Singapore, Vincent was Chief Counsel & Director of Mergers & Acquisitions (Asia), and Chief Counsel, Business Development & Growth for Rio Tinto Alcan for more than 10 years based in Montreal, Beijing, Shanghai & Singapore where he had responsibility for the Company’s legal function in Asia, focusing primarily in commercial, acquisitions, joint ventures and divestments. He was also General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, based in Hong Kong, for a coal mining company with operating assets in Mongolia which, prior to its divestment, was a Rio Tinto Group company listed on both the TSX and HKSE.
Mr. Hugues Dupuis, ing., M. Ing.
Mr. Hugues Dupuis recently joined Brivia Group as Director Construction, reporting to Mr. Kheng Ly, President & CEO. Mr. Dupuis will be responsible for the Group’s construction projects including feasibility, planning, budgeting & cost control, construction procurement planning, management of general contractor and sub-contractor relationships, contract negotiations with specialized contractors, and, quality control.
Hugues has 22 years of experience in construction industry, management and project management, including close to five (5) years with SNC-Lavalin Construction for the expansion project of the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Center, and a substantial number of years with Magil Construction, Les Constructions Marton Ltée and Axor Construction Canada Inc.
Holder of a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering and a master’s degree in civil engineering project management, Mr. Dupuis is a person of initiative who remains on the lookout for technological trends in the construction industry. His strategic and analytical approach, leadership & interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships with professionals and specialized entrepreneurs will be valuable to the company.
Mr. Norman Pearl, CPA, CA
Mr. Norman Pearl recently joined Brivia Group as Special Consultant responsible for the development and management of the Phillips Square project, reporting to Mr. Kheng Ly, President & CEO.
Norman has more than 30 years of experience as a senior executive in Commercial Real Estate. His experience includes project financing, land acquisitions, repositioning properties and the execution of major renovation programs, strategic planning, tenant relationship management, leasing, and, portfolio operations management with Polaris Realty Canada Limited, The Westcliff Group and Perrette Dairy Ltd (acquired by Couche Tard). He has established and continues to maintain trusted relationships with lenders, investment and leasing brokers, urban planners, appraisers, and real estate industry leaders. In addition, Norman possesses significant retailing experience, having managed two (2) consumer product retail chains comprising both corporate and franchise-owned stores.
