MONTREAL, March 21, 2018 – YUL Condominiums, one of the largest residential projects in downtown Montreal, is delighted to announce that it has won the Énergir prize for better use of natural gas at the 35th Domus Awards gala. The project, developed in partnership by the Brivia Group and the Tianco Group, includes notably two 38-storey towers, 17 elegant townhouses and a 23,000-square-foot private garden.
“In addition to its contemporary architectural style, its innovative design, its state-of-the-art technological components and the quality of its materials, YUL also stands out for its choices in terms of energy efficiency, which are admittedly less visible to the naked eye but every bit as important for us and for our residents,” said Kheng Ly, president and chief executive officer of the Brivia Group and of YUL Condominiums. “We are proud that the members of the jury of the 35th Domus Awards and Énergir recognized our way of using natural gas by means of our central natural heating system.”
Steve Di Fruscia, chief executive officer of the Tianco Group, added: “More than ever, real estate developers must innovate and design projects that reflect the principles of sustainable development. The use of natural gas is part of our forward-looking vision that aims at offering our residents a living environment that is based on comfort and is environmentally friendly.”
Designed and produced by Menkès Shooner Dagenais LeTourneux Architectes, in partnership with Stefano Domenici Architecte, it is worth noting that the YUL project also includes 800 units, some of them studios, as well as some 3 ½, 4 ½, 5 ½, penthouses and 17 townhouses. Residents have access to various amenities, including a spa, an indoor pool, a Sky Lounge and fitness facilities. All common areas will be furnished by Armani/Casa. In addition, the 2nd tower, currently under construction, will include several common areas featuring private rooms for special occasions, a storeroom as well as a terrace on the 6th floor overlooking the private garden.
YUL Condominiums is proud to be associated with the firm Menkès Shooner Dagenais LeTourneux Architectes and with Stefano Domenici Architecte, whose unique architecture distinguishes YUL greatly from numerous other projects, as well as with Magil Construction for the construction work. The 35th Domus Awards gala was held on Friday, March 16, at the Montreal Casino. The 17 YUL townhouses were also finalists for the prize in the category New dwelling or renovation prestige unit starting at $1 million.
